Gold play and dollar days

I think the dollar has had a run simply because it is the best of the worst right now and gold is working as more of safe haven against deflation rather than safety against inflation....unusual events for unusual times.....I would assume some where down the road inflation may kick in, treasuries go down, and gold then works as hedge against inflation.....Makes me wonder if this run in gold may have legs or might have support as inflation kicks in.....maybe year , 2 or three...but there could be early players just willing to wait it out in gold now betting on inflation later.
